In Peru, bicycle use has grown exponentially in recent years. However, infrastructure hasn’t kept up: more than 40 km of the country’s bike lanes have disappeared, either due to poor design or terrible condition. This reality creates absurd and dangerous situations for millions of cyclists who, on top of that, lack accident insurance. With humor, “Unexpected Bike Lanes” highlights this urban issue and turns the country’s most absurd bike lanes into an outdoor, digital, and social campaign to raise awareness about the importance of being insured.
